Figure 5.4. Refueling Control Valve (90AF-8).
5.6.2. Pressure Setting:
126.96.36.199. Set the CRD to maintain NOP of 100 psi at the furthest outlet. NOP is the lowest pressure
capable of achieving maximum flow rate and smooth operation.
188.8.131.52. Set the CRL to close the refueling control valve at 5 psi above NOP.
184.108.40.206. Set the CDHS-3 according to the procedures in Attachment 3.
220.127.116.11. Set the CV flow control to open the valve as quickly as possible without tripping the
5.7. Pressure Relief Valve (50AF-2).
5.7.1. General. The pressure relief valve (Figure 5.5) is installed in the hydrant LCP between the
refueling pipeline and the defueling line. Pressure relief valves are provided to relieve excessive
pressure caused by closing a downstream valve or thermal expansion in a closed section of pipeline.
This valve is installed to flow fuel under the disc so that it "fails safe" in the open position if the main
valve diaphragm fails.
