Voltage Drop Considerations. Standard voltage drop calculations need to
be made by the designer for calculating ESS conductor size. This is especially
important for CCTV cameras, which may be located some distance from interior
termination cabinets and will probably be outside. The system designer should strive for
a voltage drop of 10% or less. To calculate voltage drop, use this formula:
VD = .2 x IL x1.26 (AWG-10)
Where:
IL = Load Current
VD = Voltage Drop in volts per 100 foot circuit length (see Table 9-1)
AWG = American Wire Gauge
