Material Handling (MH). The function of moving, packaging and
storing of substances in any form. MH does not alter, change,

Materials Management (MM). The general methodologies and
organization responsible for all material and supply functions

Means of Egress. A means of egress is a continuous and
unobstructed way of exit travel from any point in a building or
structure to a public way and consists of three separate and
distinct parts:
a) The exit access.
b) The exit.
c) The exit discharge.
A means of egress comprises the vertical and horizontal travel
and shall include intervening room spaces, doorways, hallways,
corridors, passageways, balconies, ramps, stairs, elevators,
enclosures, lobbies, escalators, horizontal exits, courts, and
yards.
Mechanical Space. The area which houses the primary and
intermediate components of the air conditioning, plumbing,
communication, electrical and ventilation systems. This area
includes chases and shafts as well as mechanical and electrical
equipment rooms.
Medical and Dental Treatment Facility (MTF). A facility
established for the purpose of furnishing medical and/or dental
care to eligible individuals.
