Termiticides.
In revitalization projects, replace all HVAC ducts in or below the floor slab with an above
floor system, to avoid contamination of interior space. Follow OSHA and EPA
regulations, statutes, and guidelines for inspection, assessment, and abatement of
chlordane.

Mold.
Prevention of mold must be considered during design, and be adhered to throughout
construction. Humidity and moisture must be controlled to prevent mold growth in
buildings.

7-2.1
Air-Borne Sound.
Walls, partitions, and floor/ceiling assemblies separating dwelling units from each other
or from public or service areas should have a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of
not less than 50 (45 if field tested) for air-borne noise when tested in accordance with
ASTM E 90. Field test assemblies in accordance with ASTM E 336. Do not apply this
requirement to dwelling unit entrance doors. However, assure that frames and sills of
such doors are tight fitting.

Structure-Borne Sound.
Floor/ceiling assemblies should be provided between dwelling units, or between a
dwelling unit and a public or service area within the structure. These assemblies should
have an Impact Insulation Class (IIC) rating of not less than 50 (45 if field tested), when
tested in accordance with ASTM E 492. Assemblies should be tested on site in
accordance with ASTM E 1007.
