13-11.1
Taxiway Edge Lights, Elevated Fixtures
See paragraph 5-1. Use light fixtures meeting FAA AC 150/5345-46, Type L-861T. (See
Figure 13-19.) Use lamps recommended by the manufacturer to meet the requirements
of paragraph 5-1. Different manufacturers may meet the requirement using different
lamps. In the interest of energy conservation, lower wattage lamps are preferred. Where
an in-pavement taxiway edge light is needed use an FAA AC 150/5345-46, type L-852E
or L-852T.

Fixtures
Use fixtures meeting FAA AC 150/5345-46, Type L-852, Class I or II. These fixtures
may be direct inset, for mounting on special shallow bases, or for mounting on 250 or
300 millimeter (10 or 12 inch) base housings. Select fixtures by type depending on
application.
