4 - 3 . 7 . 1 Heating and Cooling: The following systems may
p r o v i d e h e a t i n g o n l y , c o o l i n g only, or both heating and cooling.
4 - 3 . 7 . 2 Central System Packaged Unit:
Central system generally implies
a single, central heating and cooling equipment location, which distributes
h e a t i n g water and chilled water to one or more air handling units. One
c e n t r a l air handling unit may serve an entire buiIding, or any major
fraction thereof, i.e., one system per floor, etc. A packaged unit
i n c l u d e s , as a manufactured assembly, heating, cooling, and air handling
equipment.
Such a unit may serve any fraction of a building.
4 - 3 . 7 . 3 Mixed Systems:
A building may be served by one or more types of
s y s t e m s types, i.e., the perimeter of a buiIding may be served by a fan
c o i I o r i n d u c t i o n u n i t s y s t e m , w h i l e the interior of the building may be
s e r v e d by an all-air type system.
