T h e affinity matrix shown in Figure
i n d i c a t e s relationships between the generic spaces as being desirable
( + ) , of no consequence (0), or undesirable (-). This is based upon use
patterns, acoustic compatibility, mutual support for functional operation,
s a n i t a r y or other reasons.
T h e matrix is intended to denote the
d e s i r a b i l i t y of adjacency or separation per se, and along with the space
program, i s part of the problem statement generated by the using service.
