TEMPORARY GROUNDING OF UNDERGROUND LINES. Ground all
possible sources of power (including transformer backfeed). Omission of grounds will
be permitted only if their application decreases the work hazard. Install protective
grounds at equipment terminations or ground by spiking cable (using an approved tool)
prior to work on the cable. Use approved ground sets of the type shown on Figure 7-3.
