Notes on order of procedure
Switch to local control when working at the

substation and when plugging in shore-to-
ship cable plugs
SUBSTATION
After receiving clearance from the ship's

electrical officer, seat the power plug
correctly which mechanically makes up the
microswitch that allows the plug's circuit
breaker to be closed.

a. Split personnel shore/ship responsibilities.
b. Portable power cable and outlet safety assurance.
c. Electrical equipment accessibility and working space.
d. An ungrounded, adequate and correctly phased electrical power input.
e. Minimizing any parallel operations.
